Former Tottenham and Manchester United star Teddy Sheringham loves the way Dimitar Berbatov plays the game.

Sheringham, who himself was adored by fans from both clubs for his smart link-up play, understands how Berbatov feels because he went through the exact same thing when he moved to United.

The Bulgarian hitman has yet to win over all the United fans with some suggesting that he is lazy and over-priced at 30 million pounds.

Sheringham said: "He does things you don't expect and that's what makes him so exciting. I really enjoy watching him. But I can understand how he could frustrate some supporters.

"Some people want to see a bit more enthusiasm from him but that's just how he plays football. Personally, I love it."

The former England striker went on to proclaim that Berbatov is unlike any footballer he has ever seen.

"I'm a big, big fan of Dimitar Berbatov. In fact, I think he's a player like no other.

"He goes around the pitch at his own pace then he'll put on a burst and leave his man for dead.

Berbatov scored the decisive goal against Bolton Wanderers last weekend which sent United to the top of the table.
