Sherwood slams Spurs players
Former Tottenham midfielder Tim Sherwood feels that the current players are not fit to pull on the Spurs jersey.
Sherwood who is helping Harry Redknapp coach the team is adamant that the problem at White Hart Lane is not the manager but the players themselves.
He said: "The manager likes to win matches.
"He cares. He's passionate about the game and, if he's not getting the results, then he's got the hump, like all of us have.
"Unfortunately, what I'm finding more and more is that managers and coaches actually care a lot more than the players, which is a real shame. But it's a fact.
"The transfer window's gone now and we're going to see which players want a long-term future at Spurs from now until the end of the season.
"We're in a dogfight and they have to roll up their sleeves and recognise the seriousness of our situation and really put in some performances because we're not doing it.
"We're capable of playing Arsenal on Sunday and beating them.
"But it's when you've got to go to difficult places like Bolton and Wigan and really grind a result out.
"We're not able to do that at the moment. But I'm sure we will - we have to do that if we want to remain in the Premier League."
The former Spurs captain is delighted that Robbie Keane has re-joined the club and reckons that the Irish forward will have a major impact on the boys.
"Individually, some of the players have the fight and some haven't.
"Robbie cares. He really falls out with people when things aren't going well. We need that.
"That's why we tried so hard to get Craig Bellamy because we've got a lot of nice guys at the club and, no disrespect, but Craig Bellamy is not very nice.
"The guy is a winner and he'll let people know if they're not pulling their weight.
"Robbie's got that in him also.
"That's what we need, for sure."
Spurs take on archrivals Arsenal with a potential head-on clash between the two newest stars in London, Keane and Andrei Arshavin.
