Ossie Ardiles reckons Carlos Tevez needs to leave Manchester United after falling down the pecking order.

United have Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo in their attacking department which has sent Tevez down the ladder to be fourth choice on Sir Alex Ferguson's list.

Ardiles singled out the arrival of Berbatov as the focal point of Tevez's issue.

Speaking to EPSN, Ardiles said: "Until that day he (Tevez) has been happy in Manchester,

"But for sure if he doesn't play, moving to Real Madrid would delight him.

"Tevez has been playing less since Berbatov arrived. If he's not played in the starting line-up, then he will have to think twice about his future.

"Because every time he was given the chance to ply his trade, Carlitos played well and scored goals."

Spanish giants Real Madrid are said to be keen on taking the Argentine striker to the Bernabau next season.
