Tevez in talks with Real

Real Madrid have begun negotiations with Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez, according to Corriere Dello Sport.

Madrid are in contact with the player's representative, Kia Joorabchian, and will offer Tevez a four-year contract at €3.5 million per season. The report also states that the transfer would cost the Primera Liga outfit €35million.

Madrid are favourites to land the Argentinal international, following United's failure to exercise their option to buy him for €37 million before January 1.

Tevez has not been a first-team regular this season, since the arrival of Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham in the summer.

The diminutive forward had previously told a radio station in his homeland that he is frustrated about not getting a new deal from United.

"I don't know what my future is," he said on January 5. "United know what they have to pay if they want me to stay.

"It annoys me that they're beginning to play games with people who cheer me with such affection in every match.

"I want [the supporters] to know I haven't received any offer [from United]. If I have to leave the club, then I want to do it in a good way."
