Berbatov: It ain't over yet
Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has insisted that the Barclays Premier League title race is far from over.
United stretched their lead over second-placed Liverpool to five points on Wednesday, thanks to a straightforward 3-0 win over Fulham at Old Trafford.
Despite many observers now saying that the race to land English football's most coveted crown is certain to be won by Sir Alex Ferguson's men, Berbatov is refusing to be complacent.
"This win was very important to us, that's what the boss told us before the game," said the Bulgaria international who scored his 12th goal of the season against the Cottagers.
"We maybe should have scored two or three more but in the end everybody was happy.
"We are pleased that we won and are now five points clear, but we have many games to play and it's not the end of the title race."
Ferguson is also urging caution, although the Scot has already ruled out a challenge from a Chelsea team that recently replaced Luiz Felipe Scoalri with Guus Hiddink and are now ten points behind United.
"You can never be dead sure, but it's safe to say that Chelsea have an uphill fight now to overcome us," he said.
"I think they have played into our hands and that the title race now is going to be between ourselves and Liverpool," said Ferguson.
"However, I shall be keeping a wary eye on Aston Villa, who seem to have picked up the baton from Arsenal."
