Guus reveals Blues offer

Guus Hiddink has confirmed that he has been offered a deal to stay with Chelsea beyond his current temporary contract.

However, the Chelsea caretaker also insisted to the English press that his permanent role at the club would be as a consultant and not as manager. He also has no intension of taking on both jobs of Blues and Russia manager when summer rolls along.

"There had to be a contract or my work in Chelsea would be impossible from a legal point of view. Yes, there is such a contract. It expires on May 31," the Dutchman said in an interview.

"They offered me to continue working for them after that date as a consultant. I'll need to have a look how the situation is going to develop."

"Maybe I can be useful for Chelsea in that role. For any other offer I would say no. Politely but firmly."

Meanwhile, Hiddink has taken quite a liking to the civility of management in England, where managers congregate after games for a friendly drink and banter.

"I didn't know about it and there's nothing like this in other countries where I worked before," he said. "After each game the managers of the teams not only shake hands but meet later in the host team boss's office to talk on their own and have a glass of wine. That's a great idea."

Hiddink's Russia play a double header of World Cup qualifiers at home to Azerbaijan and away to Liechtenstein over the next one and a half weeks.
