Dalglish heading back to Liverpool

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish is set for a sensational return to the Premier League club as an ambassador and advisor.

Dalglish, who endeared himself to the Liverpool faithful during a highly successful playing and managerial career at Anfield, is now wanted by Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez according to the News of the World newspaper.

The tabloid goes on to claim that Dalglish's main brief will be to focus on Liverpool's youth academy in a bid to help attract the world's best young footballers to Merseyside.

"Kenny believes there have been a lot of positive changes behind the scenes at Anfield recently," a source close to Dalglish is quoted as saying by the newspaper.

"And being Liverpool through and through, if the club thought he could be of any help whatsoever to Rafa and to Liverpool then, of course, the idea would be interesting to him."

Dalglish joined Liverpool as a player from Celtic in 1977 and enjoyed a stellar stay before, when manager, leaving in 1991.

During his career as player, player-manager and full-time manager at Anfield, Dalglish won an astounding nine League titles, three FA Cups, four League Cups and three European Cups.
