Tevez: My future is not at United
Manchester United's Carlos Tevez has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is unhappy to be playing a bit part role at the club.
The Argentina international produced a stellar performance during the Red Devils' narrow 1-0 Champions League semi-final first leg win against Arsenal this week only to be substituted after 66 minutes.
The striker sloped off the Old Trafford pitch to be replaced by Dimitar Berbatov, before telling Spanish radio station Cadena COPE that he is concerned about his current role at the defending English and European champions.
"It's true I've spent a lot of time on the bench and I'd like to play more," said Tevez who has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Liverpool.
"But every time I'm given a chance I do all I can to do well and take full advantage.
"Yes, it's like that, it's true I see myself more leaving United than staying here.
"I don't see why I should lie to people or anything because the fans support me a lot as you can see. So I don't have any reason to lie to them."
Tevez arrived at United under a loan arrangement with adviser Kia Joorabchian which was sanctioned by the Premier League.
An agreed price - believed to be around £30million - needs to be paid at the end of the season for United to seal Tevez's registration.
But, while Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson still hopes it will happen, Tevez is seemingly resigned to leaving because he has not played in enough key matches.
"While I wear the United shirt I will leave my life on the pitch," he said.
"You can see that in every game I play. I respect people a lot and I'm grateful to them.
"My future? I don't know what will happen for my future. I would like to go to Spain, yes, but I don't know yet.
"I have no preference for a team . . . we'll see."
So far this campaign, Tevez has scored three goals in 16 Premier League starts and could feature for United when they travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
