Chelsea's last gasp bid for Kaka
Barclays Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly tabled a £73.5m deal for AC Milan superstar Kaka.
Kaka was reported to have been moving to Real Madrid for £56m but the Blues are now planning to engage in a bidding war to get their man.
The midfield maestro, regarded as one of the best players in the world, was once targeted by Manchester City in January but chose to stay with the Rossoneri.
Kaka was quoted on Tuesday insisting that he was happy at the San Siro and was not planning to move anywhere this offseason.
However, rumours were rife that Real Madrid were in negotiations with Milan immediately after Florentino Perez was re-elected as president of Los Blancos. Perez has been keen on making a ‘Galactico' signing since assuming office.
Sky Sports News have now alleged that Chelsea are entering a bidding battle with Los Merengues, offering a £73.5m bid that will trump Real's £56m offer.
Former Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti has recently been appointed as Blues manager and he could be reunited with his former attacking midfielder.
Chelsea is reported to be offering a £10million-a-year wage packet for the Brazil international in an attempt to persuade Kaka to move to Stamford Bridge.
