Liverpool in for Crouch

Liverpool in for Crouch

Liverpool are reportedly ready to stun Portsmouth and bring Peter Crouch back to Anfield.

The beanpole striker left the Merseyside giants 12 months ago after failing to nail down a regular starting berth but manager Rafa Benitez seems intent on bringing him back.

The Sunday Mirror reported that a cut-price four million pounds bid will be thrown in but whether Crouch who has established himself as Pompey's first choice striker is willing to return to the club which wanted him out remains to be seen.

The English giants are said to be having some financial trouble and Benitez may have to act cautiously in the transfer market this summer.

With that in mind, bringing back Crouch who had a decent goalscoring record in his time at Anfield might be a viable and cheap option.
