AC Milan great Franco Baresi believes new Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is capable of reviving the Blues' flagging fortunes.

Ancelotti, who joined Chelsea from Milan, was installed as the new boss at Stamford Bridge following Guus Hiddink's decision not to continue with his Premier League adventure.

With Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich desperate to once again land England's top-flight crown, and add the Uefa Champions League to the club's trophy cabinet, Baresi believes the west London outfit have, in Ancelotti, found the right man for the job.

"Ancelotti is one of the best managers in the world. He achieved everything he could with AC Milan. He knows how it works.," the former Italy international declared to The Sun newspaper.

"He sees in England he can achieve top awards. He probably went to Chelsea because he knows what it is like to win the Champions League.

"He has a self-belief which he can transmit to the players. And he has an enthusiasm too.

"With that formula, Chelsea can win the Champions League."
