Hull manager Phil Brown has declared that he is interested in signing former England striker Michael Owen.

Owen will be a free agent by the end of the month and the former Liverpool man is looking for a way back into the Barclays Premier League.

The Tigers want an experienced hitman to bang in the goals after just staving off relegation by a single point in the last campaign.

Brown said in the Hull Daily Mail: "It's something that has been sounded out as a possibility, but, as yet, there has been no offer put to Michael."

"He has got a proven track record as a goalscorer and that's an area we are keen to strengthen, but it would have to be on the right terms."
