Tudgay keen on Burnley move

Marcus Tudgay's agent has confirmed the player would be interested in talking to Burnley about a move to the Premier League.

The Clarets have already had a bid rejected for the Sheffield Wednesday striker as they prepare for life in the top flight.

Owen Coyle remains keen on Tudgay and is hopeful of luring him to Turf Moor despite Wednesday's insistence that he is not for sale.

Tudgay's representative, Darryl Powell is hoping a compromise can be reached between both clubs as the 26-year-old is keen to make the switch.

Wednesday are hoping to tie down Tudgay down to a new deal, but Powell admits the player has no plans to sign it as he holds out for a move to Burnley.

"At this moment in time Marcus does not want to sign a new deal at Sheffield Wednesday as he is keen on a move to Burnley," Powell told skysports.com.

"It is public knowledge that Burnley have made an offer for Marcus and we believe it was a reasonable offer for someone who has just one year to run on his contract.

"Marcus would like the opportunity to talk to Burnley as obviously he would like to have the chance to play in the Premier League.

"It is nothing against Sheffield Wednesday as Marcus has been there three years and he has really enjoyed it, but it is about ambition and getting the chance to play at the highest level.

"It is between the two clubs and we hope something can be agreed to give Marcus the chance to play in the Premier League.
