Skrtel injury blow for Liverpool
Martin Skrtel could miss the reminder of Liverpool's pre-season tour after picking up a hamstring injury against Thailand.
According to The Guardian, Skrtel was a second-half substitute in the Reds' surprise 1-1 draw against the Southeast Asian giants on Wednesday but he pulled out after just ten minutes on the rain-sodden pitch.
The Slovak hardman was seen holding on to his right hamstring apparently in pain.
To compound matters for Liverpool, Moroccan winger Nabil El Zhar was also substituted after injuring his right knee after attempting a bicycle kick.
Liverpool manager, Rafael Benitez, was downcast when asked about the conditions of his injured players.
"They were not the best conditions here today and the worst thing was to lose Skrtel and El Zhar. The idea of the game was to improve match fitness, so to lose two players is bad news," he told the club's official website.
