Indra puts country before club

Liverpool fan, Indra Sahdan Daud, is seeking to help his beloved Singapore gun down his favourite club, Liverpool, this weekend.

The Sengkang Punggol striker, who is considered as one of the most lethal hitman in the South-East Asian region, admitted that the Merseyside giant is the club that he has always supported.

However, the Lions captain will be focused on his own team rather than the opposition when he takes to the field on Sunday.

Speaking to Kelvin Leong at Kallang National Stadium after Singapore's final training session before the big match, Indra said: "I am excited to be playing against them (Liverpool), but then again, I am still representing my country, so I will focus on doing my best for my country."

The 30-year-old striker also made known his joy at the fact that his fellow teammates, like youngster Harris Harrun, will be walking out to a jam-packed cauldron of fans dressed in red.

"It will be good. I think the last full-house crowd we had at Kallang was when we played Vietnam and Indonesia. It will be good for the boys to come out and see a crowded stadium again. That will motivate them for sure." cooed the prolific hitman.

Indra went on to explain his fondness for this stadium they call the ‘Grand Old Dame'.

He said: "Kallang is a special ground for me. This is where I made my debut when I was 18. And I have been playing here ever since."

Will Indra, who scored against Manchester United back in an exhibition match at Kallang back in 2001, break 55,000 Liverpool fans hearts with another devastating strike at Pepe Reina's goal?

It is all about showing pride to defend Singapore's home ground.

And if there is one player capable of that, it has to be Indra Sahdan Daud.
