Gunners make offer for Vucinic

Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly tabled a £17 million bid for AS Roma forward Mirko Vucinic.

According to the Daily Star, negotiations are taking place with Roma, as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger seeks to bolster his strike force in the wake of Emmanuel Adebayor's departure to Manchester City for £25 million.

Reports from Italy indicate that the Giallorossi are seriously considering the deal, as they need the funds to strengthen their squad according to coach Luciano Spaletti's demands.

The Gunners have been linked to many hitmen over the past few weeks since the transfer of Adebayor, with Klaas Jan Huntelaar still the favourite to join Wenger's squad, unless there is a breakthrough in talks for Vucinic.

Vucinic himself stated recently, "If an offer comes in, it will be up to the club to tell me and then we will talk about it. If it is for the good of the club, we'll see."

"I would be sorry to leave Roma, also because I have just renewed my contract" he added.

The Montenegrin striker has been linked with AC Milan, Tottenham and Chelsea recently.
