Burnley have handed Jay Rodriguez and Chris McCann new deals.

The club could also be adding Reading defender Andre Bikey to their squad ahead of their opener at Stoke.

Homegrown striker Rodriguez, 20, and highly-rated midfielder McCann, 22, have penned two-year contracts with the Premier League newcomers.

However, Clarets boss Owen Coyle refused to be drawn on speculation linking the Clarets with a £2.8million move for Cameroon international Bikey.

Coyle said: "There are a number of players out there who I believe could enhance the squad. Time will tell if the aforementioned player is one of them."
