Italian striker Alessandro Diamanti has completed his move to West Ham for a fee of £6 million.

According to The Telegraph, the free-kick specialist has signed a five-year contract but it is not known if the 26-year-old will be elgible for Saturday's clash against Blackburn.

The Hammers new-boy has been liken to former fan favourite Paolo Di Canio and is tipped to make a similar impact.

He is likely to line-up together with Luis Jimenez behind main striker Carlton Cole.

Diamanti was tipped to make a significant impact in Serie A this season and had previously attracted interest from Inter Milan.
