Rafa: Everyone needs to score!
Rafa Benitez wants his entire team to score goals to take the pressure off Fernando Torres.
Torres who has been shouldering the burden of putting the ball into the net for the Reds this season scored another brace to make it five goals in seven games at the weekend against West Ham.
Benitez knows he cannot rely on his star striker to keep banging in the goals and wants his other players to chip in and contribute.
Speaking to the club's official website, Benitez said: "We know that when Fernando is at his best he will score but if the team is scoring, with players like Dirk Kuyt getting goals, it's really positive,
"We have to look for goals from everywhere.
"When you have your top scorer scoring everyone can talk about him but for me as a manager it's better to have options and more players getting into the box and scoring goals. That also makes it more difficult for defenders."
"For me, Fernando was much better the other day. He was working very hard. We talk about strikers and we always try to talk about goals - but he was working for the team and that's a positive.
"I am sure he will score goals and if he keeps working at the same level then the team will continue to score goals too."
The Spaniard also hailed Dutchman, Dirk Kuyt's importance to the team.
"Playing as a striker, a second striker or a winger his commitment is always 100 per cent. His mentality is very positive and also his quality. He's the kind of player all the managers would like to have in their team.
"Always when you prepare the squad for each game we think, 'Who could play here, and who can play there?' Kuyt can play everywhere."
Liverpool emerged 3-2 winners at Upton Park but looked shaky at the back for most of the match.
