Fergie uncertain over Rooney plans

Fergie uncertain over Rooney plans

Sir Alex Ferguson remains in the dark over how the birth of Wayne Rooney's first child will affect Man United at the end of the month.

Rooney's wife Coleen is due to give birth to their first child on October 24.

The date is just three days after United's Champions League's encounter with CSKA Moscow in Russia, and only 24 hours before they take on Liverpool at Anfield.

And Rooney, who is due to feature in the Red Devils' Premier League encounter with Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday, has revealed he is giving serious consideration to missing the Moscow trip completely to make sure he doesn't miss the arrival.

As United have already won their opening two games in Group B, not going to Russia may be looked upon favourably by Ferguson, who was present for the birth of his own twins, Darren and Jason.

However, as yet, there has been no discussion between the pair, meaning a decision about Rooney's plans will not be made until much nearer the time.

"I have no idea about Wayne and the baby," said Ferguson.

"I don't know anything about it. He has not spoken to me."
