Carlo has no Roman fear

Carlo Ancelotti insists Roman Abramovich is satisfied with the way Chelsea are playing under his charge.

Ancelotti has guided Chelsea to the summit of the Barclays Premier League, as well as the top for their UEFA Champions League group, with just one solitary loss in the first ten games of the season in all competitions.

The Blues are set to host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, where defeat in the previous campaign started the countdown to Luiz Felipe Scolari's demise.

The former Blues boss had been unbeaten in all competitions until that game and he was sacked three months later.

Ancelotti believes he has the full support of Abramovich and insists he won't go the way of Scolari.

He said: "I spoke to Roman when he came to the training ground on Friday. He watched the training and said hello to the players.

"I didn't ask him if he is worried. He is happy because his team is joint top of the Premier League and top of their Champions League group."

The Blues responded to last week's upset to Wigan by edging out Apoel Nicosia 1-0 in midweek.

Ancelotti believes Chelsea will perform much better against Liverpool in the 25th clash between the club in five years.

"We didn't play well (against Apoel) but when that happens it's still important to win because it maintains a good atmosphere in the dressing room," he said.

"It's an important game against Liverpool and there is a good spirit in the team.

"When things don't go well you have to look at it and do analysis to resolve the problem. We've done this and that is my job.

"Liverpool is a big test because they are a big team. Last season was fantastic for them and they have very good players.

"We can win this game if we play better than Wednesday and I'm sure we'll play better.

"For sure I'm ready and it's important the players are ready too. They are because they are used to these matches.

"It's important to have the courage and personality to give our best on the pitch.

"Every game, whether it's easy or hard, you want to take three points but more so against a team at the top of the table.

"Our aim is to play well because if you play well it's the best way to win. I'd like to see Chelsea control the game because Liverpool are very strong in defence.

"They will use Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard to attack so we must be intelligent and read the game."

Ancelotti is relishing seeing Torres and Didier Drogba on the same pitch after labeling the duo as the best in the world.

"At this moment they are best in the game. It's very nice for the fans to see these strikers," he said.
