Blues don’t fear Roman exit

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck believes the Blues would remain in great shape even if owner Roman Abramovich was to sell the club.

Abramovich's millions have elevated the Blues into a contender both in the Barclays Premier League and the UEFA Champions League since 2003.

"I think we'd be in a reasonably good state (if Abramovich left)," he said.

"To be perfectly honest as directors we have a responsibility under the Companies Act and we have a responsibility when we deal with the orders at the end of the year."

Buck insists that he does not believe that Abramovich will leave anytime soon, despite speculation that the billionaire could be opt to offload the club after slashing his expenditure in Chelsea.

"We are comfortable - the directors of Chelsea Football Club are comfortable - that Mr Abramovich is here for the long haul," Buck said.

"Every year we're required to look at that; we're comfortable and we don't see that as an issue at all."
