Owen: I'm gunning for Liverpool
Michael Owen has revealed that he cannot wait to play against Liverpool for new employers Manchester United.
Owen famously rose to prominence at Anfield before heading to Real Madrid, Newcastle and then, in a shock move, to Old Trafford last July.
Now flying the Red Devils flag, the England international has been struggling with injuries recently and was substituted in the first half of United's Champions League win over Wolfsburg and then failed to play against Sunderland last weekend.
However, with international fixtures currently dominating the international calendar, Owen is busy recuperating and eyeing games against Bolton and then Liverpool.
"It will be different, it'll be a bit noisier!" he told Sky Sports.
"I've been back before with Newcastle a couple of times, so I've played there for an opposing team. But I'm certainly looking forward to this game.
"As usual between United and Liverpool, it'll be a competitive game between two of the world's top, top teams.
"The teams are more equally matched perhaps than when I went back with Newcastle, so it should be a good game and an exciting day."
"It's still early in the season but you don't want to lose too many games or drop too many points at this stage.
"All the teams seem quite tightly packed together at the top, so it's still all to play for," he added.
