Megson rejects Black Cats blueprint

Gary Megson will resist copying Sunderland as his Bolton side take on Manchester United on Saturday.

Sunderland and Steve Bruce came out with a near-perfect gameplan to earn a battling draw at Old Trafford two weeks ago.

Megson wants Bolton to instead concentrate on their own strengths and face the English champions their way.

"Sunderland got a good result there two weeks ago, but it doesn't mean to say everybody going there is going to get a good result," Megson said according to skysports.com.

"It's not a blueprint, the way Sunderland played - the game just went that way for them.

"To play exactly the same way Sunderland do, or like any other team, you have got to have exactly the same players - so we have just got to go there and look at what is best for ourselves, not at what other football clubs have done in the past.

"The confidence that is in and around the football club at the moment only comes from one, and that is this one.

"It doesn't matter that we are going to Manchester United, and Sunderland got a point there last time they played.

"Its nothing to do with us - the confidence comes from the way our players are playing and the results they are getting."
