King yet to commit to Spurs

Tottenham captain Ledley King admits he is yet to open contract talks with the club.

King's current deal expires in the summer and the 29-year-old says he has not yet talked terms with Spurs.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp stated earlier this month that he would look to tie down the defender to a new deal as soon as possible, but the defender is still waiting for talks.

"Once I am fit and playing games, I am sure that is something I will look at," he told Sky Sports News.

"But it is not something I am worried about. I just want to make myself available, but once I get fit and get a run it is something we will look at.

"There is an option from the club's side but there is not much I can say about that.

"Hopefully I can play as many games as possible and just see where that takes us."

It is rumoured that Spurs would like King, who has a persistent knee complaint, to sign a pay-you-play deal.

"It [play-as-you-play] is not something I have thought about," he said.

"I just want to stay fit and playing games and once we do sit down I will have my thoughts."
