Gerrard a major doubt against Fulham
Steven Gerrard may not feature in Liverpool’s clash against Fulham on Saturday as he is still struggling to recover from a persistent groin problem.
Gerrard got himself injured three weeks ago while playing for England, and was taken off the pitch 25 minutes into the Reds' Champions League clash against Lyon.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has hoped that his skipper would be able to play against the London outfit, but concedes that Gerrard will be a major doubt, unlike striker Fernando Torres.
"Both have to keep going. Gerrard is still working with the physio so we will see. Hopefully, Torres will be OK, but for Gerrard maybe it is more difficult," Benitez told the Daily Mail.
Both the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph indicate that Gerrard's injury has left the Liverpool medical staff puzzled, and the team may schedule their talismanic midfielder to go under the knife if he fails to respond to continued treatment.
