Dann revels in Anfield draw

Birmingham City defender Scott Dann has said that Monday's draw against Liverpool is the highlight of his career so far.

"It was brilliant, it was a big thing for me as it's my home-town club and you'd go there and take a draw any time," said the Merseyside native.

The centre back was happy despite the controversial Steven Gerrard penalty that denied his team a famous victory at Anfield. "We were a bit unfortunate with that [the penalty], but it was a good performance and decent result."

Dann gave credit to the team's spirit in the dressing room as well as on the field. "We've got a great team spirit here. The lads all have a good bit of banter with each other but when it's time to work, and you need to get down to it on a match day, we're always up for it and together. I think that shows on the pitch and it's starting to bring results."

While an away draw was a great result for 15th placed Birminghman, Dann still felt that a victory had been denied them.

"I enjoyed every minute of it and although we went a goal behind, we showed the determination to get back in the game. I thought we should have won," he signed off.
