United and Chelsea after Rodwell
Chelsea and Manchester United are both on the trail of Everton's highly-rated youngster Jack Rodwell.
According to The Independent, Chelsea are the only ones to make a concrete bid for the versatile midfielder who can also play in defence. Chelsea are looking to strengthen their team after their transfer ban was suspended.
The London side are prepared to make a preliminary £14m offer.
Rodwell, 18, who has made 18 appearances this season, has impressed to such an extent that he has become the most sought after young English player.
Manchester City are also thought to be interested.
