Owen Hargreaves returned to training yesterday at Carrington with Manchester United after being out for more than a year.

The Manchester United and England midfielder, fought back from two knee operations to finally made it to Carrington.

The Devils will not be rushing Hargreaves right into the thick of things, only to risk the long wait of the injury ravaged midfielder.

Despite Alex Ferguson's hopes to have had Hargreaves available for the midweek Champion's League clash, he would rather not risk him and have a fit Hargreaves available for rest the season.

Speaking to SunSport Ferguson insisted that the midfielder had to have the belief to go on.

Explaining himself Fergie said, "It's difficult to say when he will be fit.

"We're not getting an answer to that.

"It is a confidence thing to know when he is ready and that will be sooner or later."
