Megson determined to stay
Bolton boss Gary Megson says he will not be forced out of the club despite coming under fire from fans and press alike.
Megson has never been universally accepted by the Trotters faithful following his appointment as Sammy Lee's replacement in October 2007 - feelings that intensified at the weekend when Bolton dropped back into the relegation zone.
Despite preserving Bolton's Premier League status for the past two terms, Megson has been unable to match the achievements of former boss Sam Allardyce, a point rubbed in when Bolton went down 2-0 to Allardyce's current club Blackburn last Sunday.
However, chairman Phil Gartside has given Megson his backing and the boss insists he will not be hounded out.
He said: "I've been dealing with this for two years.
"I've been getting sacked every morning, I haven't known what I was doing since I've been here.
"I've kept his club up twice and we're one of the lowest spenders in the division."
