Torres lands Barclays goal award
Liverpool's Fernando Torres has won a Barclays Golden Boot '10-goal' Landmark Award for being the first in the Barclays Premier League to hit double figures this season.
Despite a recent injury setback, Torres has been in scintillating form in the opening months of the 2009/10 season and netted his first goal in the 4-0 victory over Stoke City at Anfield.
Five goals during the month of September, including a hat-trick in the 6-1 demolition of Hull City, saw 'El Nino' scoop the Barclays Player of the Month Award for the second time in his career.
Torres will now receive £10,000 to donate to a charity of his choice.
