Novakovic looks for bigger fish
Milivoje Novakovic has snubbed an approach from Portsmouth as he waits for an offer from a bigger club.
The Cologne striker has been in fine form this season - impressing in the Bundesliga and helping Slovenia reach the World Cup finals with victory over Russia in the play-offs.
Speculation of a move away from Germany intensified after he was stripped of the Cologne captaincy following his late return from international duty with Slovenis.
As well as Portsmouth, Lokomotiv Moscow are also thought to be interested in the player but his agent Mihael Stankovic says they are waiting on offers from bigger clubs.
Speaking to Nogomania.com Stankovic said "I don't know a lot about Russian offers and Portsmouth is also not the club we are interested in.
"But yes, it is true, something was happening on this relation (Portsmouth) but nothing happened.
"We are only interested in the biggest clubs in England and Germany.
"But I can tell you for sure that Novakovic will not be moving in the January transfer window.
"He is feeling good in Cologne - he is almost a legend there and there are not many chances that board would let him go in the middle of the season.
"But of course, at the end of the season, if he has a good World Cup, the move would be very likely.
"Even in the last transfer window clubs were offering eight million euros for him.
"He is a complete player, clubs now what he is offering, there are not many fears that he is not good enough."
