Wenger: There can be only one
Arsene Wenger has corrected John Terry, saying only Arsenal can claim the accolade of being called the “invincibles”.
Terry has claimed that Chelsea are firing on all cylinders again, saying: "I really think we're getting back that invincible feeling we had three years ago."
But Wenger, whose Gunners can cut the deficit to five points behind the Blues if they defeat them on Sunday, has told the England defender to remember the 2003-04 Gunners.
"There is only one team since I have been in England that has been invincible," he said. "Nobody else has done that.
"That Invincibles team was so special."
Half a dozen seasons ago, Arsenal became only the second English team to go undefeated in an entire season - and Wenger pointed out that Carlo Ancelotti's men have already been defeated by Aston Villa and Wigan.
Wenger rubbished reports that Chelsea are running away with the league title and could win it early next year.
The Frenchman said: "I see nothing which suggests that any team is flying.
"People are predicting that Chelsea are running away with the title but I am not convinced of that at all.
"If you look at their game against Manchester United, that could have gone more United's way than Chelsea's. The title race is open."
