Ancelotti may stand pat in January

Ancelotti may not buy in January

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Chelsea may not sign a single player in the January transfer window, if they can maintain their current form.

The Blues are rumoured to be interested in Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero as well as Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery but all signs point to Ancelotti making his signings only in the next offseason.

The former Milan boss was expected to go full force in the January transfer window after Chelsea had a FIFA transfer ban suspended until February after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Blues captain John Terry has publically urged the club to spend wisely during the suspension and bring in reinforcements in January, especially with Didier Drogba and Michael Essien off for the African Cup of Nations in a months' time.

"All the players are in good condition," the Italian said after Chelsea had dismantles Arsenal 3-0 at Emirates Stadium.

"If we maintain this we will sign nobody."
