Young Devils fit for Premier League

Gary Neville pays tribute to his team’s youngsters after a resilient performance that led to a 2-0 over Tottenham.

The Manchester United veteran believes that this current crop has what it takes to make a mark in the Premier League.

Ferguson had decided to field a less experienced side to what he normally does in the tournament, signaling a possible new era of Fergies Fledglings.

Speaking to Sky Sports News the Red Devils captain cited two goal hero Darren Gibson as of United's emerging talents.

"In the first half today we didn't play the best football, but Gibbo [Darron Gibson] scored two goals and that makes it routine for you.

"I don't think they're younger players, they're playing for their countries. They deserve to be there by right. They are Premier League players of that quality, they are obviously developing.

"It's going to be difficult but we're in the semi final and we want to continue to do well this year."
