Aston Villa have dismissed reports linking them with Real Zaragoza winger Jermaine Pennant.

A statement read: "The club have moved to deny newspaper claims they are set to move for Jermaine Pennant."

According to skysports.com, the former Liverpool and Birmingham player insisted he is happy to stay in Spain and he wants to establish himself in the Zaragoza team after a recent hamstring injury.

He signed a three-year contract upon joining Zaragoza and Pennant says he is not looking to secure an early escape from his Spanish challenge.
