Bullard clinches Player of Month award

Hull midfielder Jimmy Bullard has been awarded the Barclays Player of the Month for November.

The Englishman had inspired Hull to an unbeaten November with a string of impressive displays since returning from injury.

His side started November with a home fixture against Stoke City. The visitors were 1-0 up at half-time but a Bullard-inspired Hull came back in the second half, with the former Wigan Athletic man setting up Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink for a 91st minute winner.

A crucial six-pointer with West Ham United followed as Bullard was again in the thick of the action, scoring a deflected free kick and penalty in a 3-3 thriller. Bullard completed the month by being instrumental in a strong Hull second half performance at Manchester City, slotting home a late penalty to earn a valuable away point.

This is the first time that Bullard has won the Barclays Player of the Month award, after bursting onto the Barclays Premier League scene with Wigan in the 2005-06 season.

The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.
