Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been ruled out of today's Premier League clash against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

According to liverpoolfc.tv, Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez told reporters Torres will not play against Rovers.

But he hopes to see him back in action in the Champions League match against Fiorentina on Tuesday.

Torres has recovered from a groin injury as he returned to training with his teammates this week. But he has been deemed not 100 per cent and won't be in the squad to face Sam Allardyce's men.

Rafa Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv: "He has been training with the team - not full training sessions but part of them. He's doing well but he will not be ready for this game.

"He could be ready for Fiorentina. He was doing some exercises with the team and with the football but it's too soon.

"Maybe next week it will be easier."
