English tabloids are rife with reports that Chelsea are in the hunt for Sevilla forward Luis Fabiano.

The Brazilian's goal exploits have made him Chelsea's primary transfer target in January according to The News of the World.

The poacher who was previously linked with Manchester United and AC Milan has netted 25 goals in 36 appearances for his national side. Chelsea are likely to face tough competition for his signature.

With the Blues proposed transfer embargo still unclear, manager Carlo Ancelotti will want to reinforce his silverware challenging squad and Fabiano seems to be the man to aid them according to the gaffer.

However, Chelsea have to overcome certain obstacles, beginning with the remaining 18 months left on his contract to Sevilla and his ineligibility for Champions League.

On the prospect of the hitman leaving Sevilla, his agent Luis Fuentes has been quoted saying, "I think this will be the season when Luis moves on but Sevilla will make the final decision."
