Ryan Giggs has been voted BBC Cymru Wales Sports Personality of the Year.

The 36-year-old beat off competition from cyclist Geraint Thomas and Cardiff Blues rugby star Jamie Roberts in recognition of his 11th Premier League title.

It is the second time Giggs has scooped the award - voted for in a phone poll - having previously won it in 1996.

He is also one of 10 candidates for the main BBC Sports Personality of the Year award, which will be decided on Sunday.
