Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud says Marouane Chamakh has not told him of any impending agreement with Arsenal.

The English and French media have been abuzz with reports that the striker is in talks with the Gunners, with some even suggesting that a verbal deal has been brokered.

Speaking to France Football, the Bordeaux president opined that "It is sometimes said that there is no smoke without fire."

However, Triaud revealed that Chamakh has yet to tell him about his desire to move to London.

"He's not told me anything. He said he wouldn't do anything without first telling me."

Chamakh has been a pivotal figure in Bordeaux's Ligue 1 charge this season and his loss would a big blow to their next seaon aspirations.
