Wenger: We're Gunner battle on
Arsene Wenger is adamant that Arsenal can continue their battle for honours.
Wenger has enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Arsenal, but the club are without major silverware since the 2005 FA Cup win and have not won the league since 2004.
"We have desire, mental strength and never give up," said the Frenchman.
"There is a team spirit there that is special and you can see that."
The Gunners beat Hull 2-1 on Saturday with Nicklas Bendtner's stoppage-time winner securing the three points at the KC Stadium.
The Denmark international missed a host of chances in the 3-1 win over Burnley before making amends with a hat-trick in the midweek 5-0 Champions League win over Porto.
And his fourth goal in a week - albeit a fortunate one after Boaz Myhill failed to deal with Denilson's swerving shot - delighted Wenger.
"The best way to answer the critics is to come up with a better performance," added the Frenchman.
Arsenal's title aspirations are poised to be boosted by the returns of Cesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky, from hamstring and groin problems, respectively.
The duo have a "good chance" of playing West Ham next week, but William Gallas is still recovering from a calf injury.
The continued absence of the France international defender is an ongoing concern.
Sol Campbell was given a torrid time by Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Jozy Altidore at Hull and, at age 35, his powers are on the wane.
Campbell played 90 minutes against Porto and Hull and Wenger admits the defender cannot be expected to play so often.
"When we play once a week it's okay," he added.
"When we play three games in a week it's a bit too much."
