Chamakh's Arsenal move confirmed

Arsene Wenger has secured the services of Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh, according to the English media.

Daily Mail reports that a £12 million four-year move for the forward has been agreed between Arsenal and Bordeaux.

Chamakh has been an Emirates target for a long time now and the confirmation comes as no surprise for most Arsenal fans. With Wenger's men prone to frequent long-term injuries, Chamakh arrival will shore up their attacking prowess.

The Moroccan has been a prolific striker for his team in the last two seaons with his 13 goals in 2008/09 playing a vital role in Bordeaux erasing Lyon's seven year winning streak in Ligue 1 - France's premier domestic competition.

Chamakh has admitted his admiration of the way Arsenal play and has dropped many hints in the past year that he wants to join forces with Arsene Wenger.

His arrival will be cause for cheer among the Gunners fans who have been calling for reinforcements for the last two years.
