Spurs back in the hunt for Fabiano

Spurs back in the hunt for Fabiano

Tottenham will make a €18m million bid for Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano if they reach the group stages of the Champions League.

According to talkSPORT, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has told manager Harry Redknapp he will only sanction the move if he can overturn a 3-2 deficit from the first leg of their Champions League qualifier against Young Boys.

The English club's interest in the Sevilla hitman is no secret and were close to losing their pursuit after the 29-year-old was on the brink of signing for French club Marseille, who failed to meet the €18million valuation set by the Spanish club.

But with a potential windfall of £6m should they beat Young Boys and a further £10m even if they fail to win a single game in the group stages of the Champions League, the move looks to be on the cards as Redknapp is desperate to strengthen his side for a tough season ahead.

Levy is believed to be willing to fund the transfer if there is a positive result next week and according to talkSPORT, has already held talks with the player's agent Luis Fuentes over personal terms

Fabiano is reportedly open to a move abroad and is keen in testing himself in the England.
