Liverpool are close to signing Fulham's Paul Konchesky, who will undergo a medical this weekend, according to skysports.com

Reds manager Roy Hodgson earlier confirmed he had spoken to his former club over a possible move for the left-back.

Hodgson, who has been on the search for a left-back throughout the summer, could now reunite with his former charge at Anfield.

The 29-year-old, who was capped twice for England, joined Fulham from West Ham three years ago.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have completed the signing of Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles from Porto for £10.7m - just a day after agreeing to sell Javier Mascherano to Barcelona for £20m.
