Rosicky: I need to score more!

Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky believes he needs to start finding the net in order to guarantee a starting place for himself.

Rosicky has played in all three games for Arsenal thus far, although he started only in the Blackpool match. After an injury-plagued few seasons, the Czech has been in good form for the Gunners.

He helped Arsenal level the game against Liverpool and was pivotal in their 6-0 thrashing of Blackpool. Despite that performance though, he was dropped to the bench for the Blackburn game, with captain Cesc Fabregas reclaiming his midfield place.

The 29-year-old would like more starting opportunities, but acknowledges he has to start finding the net to catch manager Arsene Wenger's eye.

In comments quoted by iDnes.cz, he said: "It could be better as I have been in the starting line-up just once.

"I feel well and hopefully I have done well," he added. "If laying on assists does not help me into the starting line-up, then maybe I need to start scoring. To be fair, I have not done too well in that department."

Rosicky is looking past the international break as the ideal time to start getting more games under his belt. With the Premier League season entering a busy period and the Champions League group stages kicking off, there are bound to be more opportunities.

"From September there will be two games every week, so we will see if I get to play more," he said

"Everyone wants to play, and I'm no different. But in every game there are seven disappointed players who don't make the XI."

"I am not panicking though."

Arsenal restart their BPL campaign with a home game against Bolton Wanderers on Sep 11 before hosting Portuguese side Braga in the first-leg of their opening Champions League encounter on Sep 15.
