Parker ready for avenging Reds
Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker is ready to face a Liverpool team who will be gunning to avenge the defeat in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
Tottenham came away 4-0 victors in the fixture at White Hart Lane in September in a match where Liverpool ended with nine men after Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel were sent off.
Emmanuel Adebayor marked his home debut with a brace of goals but it was a domineering performance in the midfield by Parker and Luka Modric which drew the plaudits for the win.
Ahead of the match at Anfield, Parker recalled the earlier fixture as the moment when he realised that Tottenham had what it takes to challenge for the Premier League title.
He told Tottenham's official website: "We were on fire in that game, played some great stuff and it was hard for Liverpool to live with us.
"It was my first home game and I came out of it thinking 'we've got some team here'. I knew we had a very good team but that really stood out for me."
The 31-year-old is wary that a resurgent Liverpool will be looking to avenge their biggest loss of the season.
Liverpool are in fine form after eliminating both Manchester clubs from the domestic cup competitions before recording a comfortable 3-0 win against Wolves last week.
Also, with key striker Luis Suarezexpected to make his return from an eight-match ban, Liverpool have the momentum going for them.
Parker added: "I'm sure they will want to make amends for earlier in the season. It's always a big game at Anfield, they've had some great results and it will be tough.
"They have quality all over the pitch, all in good form, so we know it will be difficult. We'll prepare right, we'll be ready and we know what's in hand. We have to go there and deliver."
Tottenham are third in the league table, six points adrift of second-placed Manchester United while Liverpool are seventh, two points behind sixth-placed Arsenal.
