Scolari set to splash the cash

Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has been handed an amazing $US500 million with which to rebuild his Stamford Bridge squad.

The staggering sum comes courtesy of Chelsea owner Roman Abravomich, although with the array of talent already on display at the west London club, it remains to be seen just how much of the transfer kitty the recently installed Scolari will be forced to part with.

News of Abramovich's staggering generosity signals the start of what is sure to be a busy period of wheeling and dealing for the Blues, activity that has already started with the arrival of former Barcelona star Deco.

Brazil ace Ronaldinho - another member of Barca's elite to be shown the door this summer - is also being widely tipped to land at Chelsea, despite his agent telling all and sundry that Ronaldinho will not be setting foot in England next season.

Should he choose to join, the Samba ace will play alongside flying full-back and Portugal international Jose Bosingwa who signed for Chelsea before Euro 2008 got underway.

Lyon hitman Karim Benzema and class Dutch act Klaas-Jan Huntelaar are also rumoured to be on Chelsea's radar, while reports that Real Madrid's Robinho is on a brink of a move to the three-time champions of England are gathering pace.

With Real looking to release cash in a bid to finance their audacious attempt to lure Cristiano Ronaldo away from Manchester United, Robinho's transfer is apparently moving closer by the day.
