Crouch on his way to Portsmouth

The Daily Mail has reported that Liverpool have finally accepted a reported $US20 million bid for lanky striker Peter Crouch.

The England international hitman has stated his desire to join Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth side, but up to know, Liverpool have refused to sell him and instead have held out for a bigger offer.

Crouch is apparently so desperate to move to Fratton Park that he has said he would like to either move there of remain at Liverpool to see out the remainder of his contract with the club.

Liverpool have apparently given in to his request and accepted a bid from Pompey, which will be lodged with the FA on Monday.

If Portsmouth can hammer out the details with the England international, the move could be completed on the same day.

The Reds are set to receive $US16 million up front as part of the deal, money which could well go towards a bid for Aston Villa's Gareth Barry.
