Calderon: "We will respect United"
Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon insists no talks have yet been held with Manchester United over Cristiano Ronaldo.
And Calderon is adamant that nothing will happen until the Spanish champions are given the go-ahead by the Old Trafford hierarchy.
Reports on Sunday suggested United chief executive David Gill will issue an official 'hands off' warning to Real when officials from the clubs meet on Monday.
It could mean the drawn-out transfer saga will soon come to an end.
Calderon said they had no discussions with United and the Spanish club did not want to be "disrespectful" to the Premier League champions.
"I wouldn't like to interfere in a relationship between player and club," Calderon told BBC World Service Sport.
"I have heard that he has said many times that he would like to go to Madrid and it is his dream. But we can't say any more as it could be misinterpreted and we wouldn't like to upset Manchester.
"I don't know if he will play for Real Madrid next season. We will only do what Manchester United want to do with the player.
"We are very good friends with Manchester United and they have said many times that they don't want to sell the player so we can't do anything.
"If they say sometime that they would like to sell we will be there and will ask."
